Kelly N. Griffin

Kelly Griffin focuses her practice on domestic relations representing clients in all matters related to divorce, custody, child support, alimony, modifications, guardianships, and adoptions.  Kelly has extensive experience in complex domestic relations matters, including issues related to special needs children, mental health challenges, addiction, and nontraditional families.  Clients rely on Kelly to act as a trusted advisor and advocate, navigating them through the difficult emotional and financial issues that can arise in family-related matters.  Kelly provides each client with close, individual attention and tailors her approach to best meet each client’s financial and personal needs.

Kelly’s goal is to take a child-centered approach to protecting families and her clients and reducing conflict and stress.  As an advocate of alternative dispute resolution when possible, Kelly is able to ease her client’s stress and avoid potential financial crises with her ability to deftly negotiate temporary and final settlements outside of litigation.  In the event matters cannot be settled, Kelly is a skilled written and oral advocate before the court and has appeared in court in nearly every county in Massachusetts, as well as several in New Hampshire.

In addition to acting as a zealous advocate for her clients, Kelly is a certified Category F Guardian ad litem, appointed by the court as a neutral third party to perform child custody investigations and make recommendations to the court regarding legal and physical custody and parenting schedules.  Further certified as an Attorney Representing Children, Kelly is appointed by the court to represent children directly in contested proceedings.

In 2015 and 2016, Kelly was named a “Rising Star” by Massachusetts Super Lawyers, a recognition awarded to only 2.5% of attorneys under age 40.  As an active member of the Massachusetts Women’s Bar Association Amicus Committee, Kelly has authored portions of multiple amicus briefs submitted to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.  She also sits as a board member on the North Shore Women Lawyers Association.

Prior to joining Prince Lobel, Kelly maintained a thriving solo family law practice on the North Shore, representing clients in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire in family and probate matters.  Kelly is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law, where she served as a youth mentor to teenagers in group homes, as well as represented indigent defendants as part of the Roxbury District Court criminal law clinic.
