Mitchell S. King has been a legal adviser to the insurance industry for more than three decades. He has counseled and represented major U.S. and London market insurers and reinsurers in disputes involving a wide range of property and casualty, disability, and other life, accident, and health coverages.
As chair of Prince Lobel’s Insurance and Reinsurance Practice Group, Mitchell has litigated a number of pivotal reinsurance cases, including cases on coverage for declaratory judgment expenses and the scope and definition of facultative reinsurance. On the casualty side of the market, he counsels, litigates, and arbitrates on behalf of U.S. and London market insurers and reinsurers in a variety of areas including asbestos, pollution, health hazard, and environmental claims, as well as a full array of other liability coverages.
Mitchell has extensive coverage and litigation experience in the U.S. accident and health and London personal accident markets including individual and group disability, specialty sports, high limit disability, and medical stop-loss and related products. He advises clients on program and contract design and drafting, and regulatory matters. Mitchell counsels and litigates disputes between insurers, agents, brokers, and MGAs and MGUs.
A frequent speaker at insurance and reinsurance conferences and seminars in both the U.S. and the U.K., Mitchell brings extensive knowledge and expertise to his leadership role at Prince Lobel.
